In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Southwest Houston Recreational Swim League
(hereinafter SHRSL) swimming program (in any manner) and related events and activities, the
1. Agree that prior to participating, they each will inspect the facilities and equipment to be used, and
if they believe anything is unsafe, they will immediately advise their coach or supervisor of such
condition and refuse to participate.
2. Acknowledge and fully understand that each participant will be engaging in activities that involve
risk of serious injury, including permanent disability and death, and severe social and economic
losses which might result from their own actions, inaction, or negligence of others, the rules of
play, or the condition of the premises or of any equipment used. Further, there may be risks not
known to us or not reasonably foreseeable at this time.
3. Assume all the foregoing risks and accept personal responsibility for the damages following such
injury, permanent disability or death.
4. Release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue SHRSL, their respective administrators,
directors, agents, coaches, and other members of the organization, other participants, sponsoring
agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct
the events, all of which are hereinafter referred to as Released Parties, from demands, losses or
damages on account of injury, including death or damage to property, caused or alleged to be
caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.
5. Agree to abide by all UIL/SHRSL rules and regulations governing coaches and UIL participation.

worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization.COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is
believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local
governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing
and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of

associated therewith (SHRSL) have done their best to follow the State of Texas
guidelines and put in place preventive measures to reduce the spread of
COVID-19; however, SHRSL cannot guarantee that you will not become infected
with COVID-19.Further, attending SHRSL
practices and meets could increase your risk of contracting COVID-19.
By signing this agreement, you acknowledge the contagious
nature of COVID-019 and voluntarily assume the risk that you may be exposed to
or infected by COVID-19 by attending SHRSL practices and meets and that such
exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent
disability, or even death.You
understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 may
result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of SHRSL volunteers.
You voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks
and accept sole responsibility for any injury to yourself (including, but not
limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss,
claim, liability or expense, of any kind, that you may experience or incur in
connection with your attendance at SHRSL events (Claims).You hereby release, covenant not to sue,
discharge, and hold harmless SHRSL, its agents, representatives, board and
volunteers, from the Claims.You
understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the
actions, omissions, or negligence of SHRSL, its agents, representatives, board
and volunteers, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after
participation in any SHRSL event.
The Teal Run Tidal Waves is a non-profit, parent volunteer organization. The Swim Team is YOUR program and to have a Successful Season depends on ALL OF US. ONE Adult member from each family per swimmer is REQUIRED to volunteer during EVERY Swim Meet swimmer participates in-including MOC, Preliminaries and Finals.
It is the parents responsibility to sign-up online and sign-in with the Volunteer Coordinator for each meet to receive volunteer credit. Notify the coach and volunteer coordinator if your swimmer will not be in attendance to a meet.
The Refundable Deposit is $150 for the first swimmer, $50 for the second and $25 per swimmer there after. All Refundable Deposit are maintained by the Treasurer. Your credit card on file will be charged only if volunteer obligations are not met. A registered swimmer can not participate in practice unless parent agree to volunteer or pay deposit.
Swimmers who cannot swim the length of the pool by the beginning of the first meet will continue to practice with the team with the coach's approval and parents will have the option to attend at all meets and volunteer to receive refundable deposit. Per SHRSL rules, Swimmers must participate in at least three meets before prelims and finals for this to apply.
Swimmers who do not participate in at least three competitive meets a charge of $150 will be charged per swimmer for swim lessons.
*Families will be notified if they have not met their volunteer obligations before any charges are processed.
A parent can choose to opt out of volunteering and the volunteer deposit will be charged at check out.

If you are not able to meet the volunteer obligations this season, you will be charged a volunteer fee of $150 first swimmer, $50 second swimmer & $25 each additional swimmer registered at check out.
If you are interested in being an Age Group Parent ( team parent) / a ready bencher (line up swimmers in heating area) you must complete a background check
If you are interested in being a Stroke Judge you must complete a background check and attend one stroke clinic. We can not run the meets with out stroke judges.
If you are interested in being a Starter/Aide (call the meets and makes announcement at home meets only) you must complete a background check and attend one stroke clinic.
